This park honors the memory of Jogaila, Grand Duke of Lithuana, later King of Poland as Władysław II Jagiełło, and his wife, Jadvyga, Jadwiga of Poland (or ’Hedvig’ in Hungarian, born as the heiress of Louis I of Hungary), crowned as ’king’ of Poland, who has become the patron saint of queens as well as of a united Europe. May this park commemorate the common roots of history and friendship amongst Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, and all the people in Europe!
