Born and raised in Amsterdam, Stephanie lost her father very young and found her voice in the saxophone. Music became her anchor, her way to turn silence into sound. She grew up playing smoky clubs, slowly moving into larger venues and festivals across Europe, her style magnetic and heartfelt. After years of building a solid career in jazz, she stepped away, disappearing from the scene for a long while. Now she has returned with Velvet Horizons, a jazz duo that blends intimacy, and the kind of improvisation that leaves marks. Temporarily living in London, she refuses the idea of cages or routine. Stephanie is happiest between flights, midnight jam sessions and hidden rooms where the music never sleeps. Independent and adventurous, she is a romantic on her own terms, drawn to people with stories etched in scars and melodies carrying soul.
