My love, my sunshine, my little heartbeat,

How are you 3 already? It feels like I blinked, and suddenly my teeny tiny baby is this walking, talking, laughing little human who fills every room with energy. Sometimes I catch myself staring at you, amazed at how much you’ve grown, and then the tears start coming. I cry more and more often these days, not because I’m sad, but because time feels like it’s racing, and I just want to hold onto every second with you. Don’t tell anyone though, no one can know that your mom is such a cry baby when it comes to you. We’re the tough ones, remember? Tough ones with the biggest, softest hearts.

I love how your personality is shining brighter every day. You’ve got opinions now — so many opinions! — and you express every one of them like you’re running for office. Between your endless babbling, your speeches about why vegetables are a crime, and your constant negotiations for 'just one more snack', I’m convinced you might grow up to be a lawyer or a politician. Maybe I should start calling you Baby Boss from now on.

But even with all your sass and confidence, what melts me most is your kindness. That part hasn’t changed one bit. You’re the gentlest soul, always ready with a hug, always sharing your toys, always noticing when someone’s sad. You are pure light, my love.

I told Gabe we’d be preparing a dance for him, I was thinking maybe Britney (because your mom’s got good taste), but he said he’s only in if it’s Britney with the knives. Otherwise, he votes Baby Shark. So, I guess we’ll find a compromise between pop diva and playful madness.

Every day with you feels like a gift I can’t believe I get to open over and over again. You are my joy, my laughter, my little reason for everything.
