Homework - Week 2- Y148

Okay, so there's something I forgot to tell everyone last week... apart from latin music, I love a good spanish tv show, soap opera or let's just call it Telenovela, I follow a few of them but there's one that made think about this week's homework, it is called La Pola.

La Pola isn't only the name of the Telenovela but also a way of referring to Policarpa Salavarrieta. She was an important figure in Colombia's fight for independence from Spain, why? because she was THAT GOOD at acting and she worked as a spy who helped the rebels by gathering information about the Spanish army. Back in the time, I can imagine how brave she was to play such role as a woman, she risked her life to help her country become free.

What I like about her the most is that sometimes we think the historical figures are the kings, queens or warriors who fought and killed hundreds of enemies, but she reminds us that even ordinary people can make a big difference in history. She teaches us to be brave and stand up for what we believe in and thanks to people like her, her country became free, and I'll always admire someone that fights for freedom and justice.
