blog #5 - not a souvenir.

I am not your souvenir.

I am not something you pick up in a moment of loneliness, something pretty to remind you of a fleeting feeling. I am not here to be admired quietly, held tightly for a time, then forgotten on a shelf when the next distraction calls your name.

Don’t ask me to follow you around the world if I’m just a placeholder for what you’re too afraid to feel. Don’t keep me close because you like the way I make you feel—but not enough to make me yours.

If your only offering is presence without purpose, desire without depth, comfort without commitment—then don’t be surprised when I walk away. Because I know what I’m worth. And I will not stay where I am reduced to convenience.

Yes, I want connection. Real, messy, complicated connection. The kind that makes you feel something other than safe. The kind that dares you to be seen fully—and see me back.

I’ve learned that people who are afraid of love often speak in cold, measured honesty.
They say things like “I don’t believe in forever,” or “I only want you around for now.”
As if avoiding love will keep them from pain.
But it doesn’t. It just spreads it around.

So if you’re just looking for something easy, something you can carry without weight—
Keep walking.
Because I am not your souvenir.

I am not something to be held in half-truths and careful distance.

I deserve to be chosen with both hands.
Fully. Fiercely. Without apology.

And if you can’t give that—
then I won’t give you me.
