They wanted to see if I’d break.
Three of them. Near the lot where I keep кома. Laughing too loud, like they knew I could hear every word.
Half-face. Crooked eye. Dead man’s shadow.
It doesn’t even sting anymore. What pisses me off is the dare. The way they lean in close, like they want to find out what happens if they say it again.
So I showed them.
Knuckles split. One tooth loose—not mine. Left one of them in the gravel by the fence, breathing but not happy about it. The other two ran. Because I let them.
Nobody called the cops. Nobody ever does when it’s me.
My hands are clean now but my shirt isn’t.
Haven’t changed yet. Might not.
Sometimes I wonder if I look more like him when there’s blood on me.
Probably.
Maybe that’s why they keep testing me.
