Drowning
He shouted into the room. No clue what but the air-con hummed in support.
It must have been a few hours later when he woke up in a panic, heart racing, as usual. He didn't knew where he was or what he was doing, with that enormous fear constantly threatening to overwhelm him.
The minibar called to him. Not out loud but in the way quiet things sometimes did. He opened it, stared into its cold little soul, tiny bottles lined up like soldiers. He grabbed one, unscrewed the cap and downed it without flinching.
"Cheers," he muttered to no one, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. He was halfway through pulling on yesterday's jeans when the phone lit up.
"Congrats on gold"
