The Sound Between Lives
They say silence has a sound.
I used to laugh at that. The world was loud. Guitars screaming. Crowds roaring. Kisses too fast. Promises too easy. Back then, silence felt like failure. A sold-out stage was the only pulse I trusted.
Then I died.
Not in fire or drama, just absence. A quiet fade, like a candle burning out in a room no one noticed. I slipped from the world and stayed gone. Years passed. People moved on. I didn’t.
Then I opened my eyes again.
Rebirth isn't as glorious as it sounds. It’s disorienting. You're back, but everything has shifted. And the silence... it was still there. But now it wasn't empty. It was waiting. It was full of something I couldn’t name.
Until I heard it.
Not a melody. Not applause. A voice. Soft and real. It didn’t try to impress. It didn’t demand anything. It just existed. And suddenly the silence I carried made sense.
