𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚠𝚊𝚜𝚗'𝚝 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚗

Ana had always been good at handling messy situations. She could navigate complicated nights and tangled mornings like it was second nature, but this felt different. Heavy in a way that didn't move, like it had settled deep inside her without asking. The thought of something growing inside her didn't feel magical, it felt unfamiliar and wrong, like her body had been handed a responsibility she never signed up for.

She'd told them, of course. The two men twisted in her life like a bad habit she didn't want to break. Told them it could be either of theirs. Told them she didn't know what she was doing. And they said they'd be there no matter what, so she believed them. Or at least tried to. But now it was Ana who wasn't sure if she wanted them there. If she wanted any of this. Not because she didn't care, but because she cared too much. And because some part of her couldn't stop asking: 'what if I can't do this? what if keeping it meant losing myself? what if they changed their minds down the line, and I was the only one left holding the weight?'

She didn't feel selfish for thinking about it, but she felt tired. Tired of pretending she could carry something this big without falling apart. Tired of hearing voices telling her she wasn't alone, when all she wanted was to be alone long enough to hear her own voice in the silence. This wasn't about regret and it wasn't even about fear. It was about choice. About the space between what everyone expected her to do and what she knew she might actually be capable of. There was a question mark growing inside her now, and she didn't know how to answer it. Maybe this wasn't the time. Maybe she wasn't the person. And maybe the best thing she could do was to get rid of it, before it rewrote a story she wasn't ready to finish.
