On the edge of your knife, staying drunk on your vine
Elisabeth hung up the phone after half an hour talking to Blair. It's the price to pay after hiding what was happening to her. Since then, not a day has passed without a call to inquire about the investigation into the stalker who sent her roses, although Elisabeth knows what her friend is interested in knowing is whether she's slept with the "hot guy who keeps her company." She knows her like the back of her hand.
The thing is, there hasn't been much progress. It's only been a few days, and although she's continued to receive roses, it's been less frequent. But what's new is her reaction: she no longer feels afraid because she's not alone.
At first, she wasn't sure his idea would work. It's not easy living with someone you barely know and with whom you've had a date that's both disastrous and fun. But living with him temporarily is proving to be a positive experience, one that's helping her decipher her feelings toward him. When this is all over, she'll suggest going on a second date, and see what happens.
