Era una cueva vieja, húmeda, perdida debajo del corazón de la ciudad. Nadie hablaba de ella, pero ahí estaba, como esperando. La luz de mi linterna apenas alcanzaba, y arriba, en el techo, unas piedras brillaban suave, como si recordaran algo.
Abajo, el silencio era puro. Denso. Cada paso que daba sonaba como una nota que alguien había dejado colgando hace siglos. Y ese eco… no sé, no era normal. No rebotaba, respondía. Como si la caverna quisiera decirme algo.
Me senté en una roca, saqué mi libreta, y sin pensar demasiado empecé a escribir. Las notas salieron solas. No busqué nada, no forcé nada. Solo dejé que el lugar hablara. Las melodías eran crudas, un poco rotas, como si vinieran de un sueño que no era mío.
Cuando subí de nuevo, no le dije a nadie. Cerré la libreta y seguí con mi vida.
Semanas después, cuando toqué lo que había escrito, me pegó una sensación rara. Triste, pero elegante. Como si alguien hubiera vivido algo muy profundo y no supiera contarlo, y entonces me usara a mí para decirlo.
No fui yo la que escribió eso. Fue el eco. Yo solo estuve ahí.
