she lost herself in thought as she walked through her university campus. she carried her art supplies and sketch book in a messenger bag that felt a little too heavy on her shoulder, but she didn't mind it. she loved going to college and hoped that someday, her art would reach a wide variety of people. the stories she had in her head felt practically endless.

violet was pulled from her thoughts when she began to hear the tell-tale sounds of someone walking in heels in front of her.

her dark brown gaze lifted from the ground, slowly moving up to take in the figure of a girl dressed in business casual. kitten heels. she never understood why people dressed in such fancy or high-class ways just to sit and listen to their professors lecture. it didn't seem worth it. then again, she was in the art and english departments and most of the students in those programs were indie or a little.. different.

the girl became entranced by the sound of the heels.

violet thought about the life she'd have if her parents didn't care so much about her - she could have been used as a bargaining chip, surely. as the only daughter of someone who had unbelievable power and influence, her life should have been more dangerous. it should have been risky for her to be out on her own.

maybe it was and she just wasn't aware of it.

she knew she had people tailing her all of the time, despite her best efforts to lose the security detail.

her life had never been normal, despite her best efforts, yet again. she never felt like she could openly date or experiment. she never felt like her future was really within her control.

violet thought about felix and frowned to herself. it didn't seem fair.

shouldn't it have been her?

or was it her loneliness making her think silly things like that? she missed dating, but an arranged marriage was a whole different thing. it was forced. she shouldn't have wanted that... and yet..
