1843 - of whores, politics and money

His desk was always filled with dossiers, from petty thieves to murders or attempted ones. Depending on the amount of work required for each of them, he could work on one case from a couple of hours to days or weeks.

He opened the dossier on top of the pile and quickly went through the several pages that filled it. It involved prostitution and extortion, nothing that he hadn't already seen in his years at the department. Such cases were more frequent than one could think and it usually involved married man who paid to have sex with people of same sex, transexuals or even underage. He rarely came across cases in which the person who suffered the blackmail had sex with a person of age of the opposite sex because usually people preferred to beg forgiveness to their partners instead of paying the amount requested.

In this exact case, the person who suffered extortion and then, ended filing the report that he was currently reading, was a politician of the conservative party who wanted to run for the next elections. He gave the name and a precise description of the person who extorted him, a sex worker that he had sex with several times before the blackmailing started.

According to the man, the sex worker found out what the his real job was and ended blackmailing him with pictures of the sexual acts in exchange of money, a lot of, that he paid until he decided to ask for police's help.

The interesting thing was that in spite of the precise description, there was no overwhelming evidence that the person who made the extortion was the sex worker or at least enough to bring them to the station for an interrogation. Besides the pictures, the blackmailing consisted of anonymous texts that weren't sent by the number he usually get in contact with the prostitute. In addition to that, the money were exchanged leaving envelopes in different mail boxes and never in person.

He knew it was going to require a lot of work, and he adored it.
