The Deal

Sometime into her visit to London, she was at the store with a particular pair of sunglasses sticking her fancy. She had planned on claiming them, when a particular stranger warned her of an undercover detective keeping an eye out.

And so, it seemed the stranger got her the glasses instead and called to her when she went past him on the street. A talk. A walk to the bar. More talking. The young apparent computer genius showing up. A deal was struck. A year of a finders fee and a partnership with the smart guy who in Kylie's opinion looked quite innocent. Maybe that was to their benefit. He'd tell her how to get into places. She'd do the dirty work. Then, the goods would be resold. It'd give her money while she was here, however, long she'd stay. It'd seemed pointless to get a "real" job when she didn't know that. Plus, she'd make more this way than any job she could get with her education. At least, that was what she thought.

She was still staying with her Aunty Jenny. She now could figure why her father never brought them there to visit. The woman was eccentric and normally on something or other. Aunt Jenny wasn't too good at following along what was happening most of the time. The house was a bit of a mess. But, Kylie could admit her art was good that she sold at fairs for cash. And, she did treat her three cats like royalty.

But, hey, Kylie got a free place to stay without a timestamp on it. Aunt Jenny didn't care what she did. Hell, she probably didn't even know what she was doing. So, there was that.
