Daddy Diary
Today, the sky was gray, but there was a strange flutter inside me. Maybe it was those looks from last night still lingering on me. The city was as fast as ever, but I was moving slower… A deliberate slow down. To savor the moment.
In the evening, I stopped by a small, dimly lit bar in Soho. Red neon lights, jazz playing softly in the background, and a crowd where I wanted to get lost. But I couldn’t. Because she was there.
Her jet black hair, shadows dancing on her skin mysterious as a secret. Could a woman’s gaze be this intense and this inviting at once? When she came over, my heart didn’t just skip a beat it nearly jumped out.
“Don’t you think London’s getting a little too boring?” she asked. I smiled, “Maybe you’ll add some excitement,” I said.
The rest of the night is a blur in my mind… A glass of wine at the bar, loneliness in the back room… Bodies leaning against walls, whispers, bitten lips. The traces her fingers left on my skin still haven’t faded. I didn’t ask her name or take her number. I looked into her eyes one last time and simply said, “We’ll run into each other again.”
And I know… in a city like London, those eyes will definitely cross my path once more.
